Recently, there has been concern among local residents that a data center will be built at Wildwood Commerce Park in Hillsville, a project of the Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development Authority (BRCEDA).

Information regarding the future plans for the industrial park has been scant and public fears have been growing.

As concerned citizens of Southwest Virginia, we are interested in finding out what our community actually thinks about data centers and what kind of economic development YOU would like to see in this beautiful part of the world. Would you take a few minutes to take our public opinion poll?

Do you think that the tax benefits of a data center would outweigh the problems it may bring, such as increases in our power bills, and pollution of our ground water and air?
Do you feel that we know enough about the effects of data centers on a community?
Do you feel that BRCEDA should operate with more transparency?
Do you feel that the public needs a comment period with regard to the location of data centers?
Are you a resident of Carroll County, Grayson County, or Galax?
Are you a property owner?
